<p>The purpose of this map is to capture actions, events, milestones, and victories in social justice and community building across the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle's Rainier Valley, one most diverse communities in America. While many reports will be submitted by the Rainier Beach News Wire correspondents, anyone can add their own report on what they have seen or participated in related to social justice and community building. Reports are moderated and verified before public release.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We will also strive to bring in information from other sources, including activities and projects sponsored by local organizations and groups as well as online news sources and blogs to recreate the layered, interconnected network of creative action across the neighborhood.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span lang="EN"><a href="http://www.rbcoalition.org/lift-every-voice-campaign/campaign-overview/" target="_blank">"Lift Every Voice: Celebrating the dreams and determination of the Rainier Beach Neighborhood"</a> </span></strong><span lang="EN">is </span><span lang="EN">a spinoff of the Black National Anthem and is intended to transform the public perceptions of Rainier Beach by highlighting the voices of the people and organizations who live, work, serve and learn in one of America’s most diverse communities.<span> </span>It is intended to serve as a rallying cry and catalyst for civic engagement, leading to a neighborhood demonstrating its passion for revitalizing itself for the benefit of all of its residents.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN">The campaign encourages the creation of an online information and exchange commons by strengthening connections among existing sites and providing additional tools for gathering and presenting a growing reservoir of locally generated information not otherwise readily available through existing channels. <strong>Mapping the Dream </strong>is one such tool, using the <a href="http://www.ushahidi.com/" target="_blank">Ushahidi (“Testimonial”) platform</a> originally developed in Kenya and now deployed across the world.</span></p>
